8. OBJECTIVES
  • To expose on practical based learning experience guided by clinicians
  • To integrate Islamic perspectives in treating patients
  • An expansion in learning on interpersonal communication skills among colleagues in clinical setting and patients
  • An experienced based understanding of the profession
  • To develop compassion and commitment to be a Muslim physician of a good standard with Islamic perspectives
  • Teach the students to be their professional role models
  • Physical activity curricula is to train the students on exercise and promote healthy lifestyle and to be able to counsel patients about the knowledge and benefits of physical activities on health
  • Introduce military physical activities to promote physical strength
  • To learn the Islamic way of managing ‘jenazah’

11. TEACHING-LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT STRATEGY Teaching-learning strategy:

The course will be taught through a combination of formal group discussions, facilitated by lecturers. Collaborative teamwork will be fostered throughout the course.. The use of in class individual and group presentation or discussion will assess the student’s ability to apply scientific and Islamic knowledge in clinical settings and the profession as a medical doctors as a whole. It involves practical clinical attending skills and communication skills with patients. Additionally, physical activities  will be trained by former military personnel. Islamic teaching on the way to manage ‘jenazah’ will be taught in theory and practice.
