4. RATIONALE FOR THE INCLUSION OF THE COURSE/MODULE IN THE PROGRAMME This course is developed as an exposure for students to the management of Baitulmal, Waqf, Zakat and Faraid. In addition, this course provides a platform of understanding and practical activities (skills) that are applied in these four ijtima’i institutions. As a result, student will be exposed to the actual procedure, problem solving and decision making decision in Baitulmal, Waqf, zakat and Faraid operations.

9. OBJECTIVES 1.     To familiarize and provide student with basic overview, key concepts and theories of Baitulmal, Waqf, Zakat and Faraid.

2.     To identify the management of Baitulmal, Waqf, Zakat and Faraid.

10. LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, the student will be able to:

1.     Distinguish and explain the basic concept, process, operations and management of Baitulmal, Waqf , zakat and Faraid.(LO1-C4)

2.     Point–out issues related to Waqf development, zakat and faraid management in Malaysia (LO4-CS3).

3.     Demonstrate task on Baitulmal waqf, zakat and faraid in group. (LO5- TS3, A3).

11. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS Student should be able to develop a good understanding of the management of Baitulmal, Waqf, Zakat and Faraid, their operations and related aspects through a process of lectures, tutorial and group assignment.
12. TEACHING-LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT STRATEGY
  • The course will be taught through a combination of formal lectures, exercise, group world, using authentic materials, informal activities and various textbooks. Practical experience and collaborative teamwork will be fosters throughout the course. The use of examination and internal reporting assessment will assess the student’s ability to apply theoretical concept in context.
