This course will discuss the concept of al-Ikhtilāf (difference) and the different between al-Ikhtilāf (difference) and al-Firāq (division). Studies will include a brief history of dispute, starting from the time of Ᾱdam (A.S) until the time of the Prophet (S.A.W) and his companions. It also examines the reasons of the admirable division and a types of al-Ikhtilāf (difference), the al-Ikhtilāf  on Usūl (basic) things and furū ͨ u (minor) thing, dispute and difference in the matter of Ushul al-Dīn and error in the Islamic movement today. The course will also outline the attitudes and manners of al-Ikhtilāf, in addition to critically analyze some examples of al-Ikhtilāf in the history of Islām to serve as a guide for preachers today.
