9. OBJECTIVES 1.     To familiarize the behaviour phenomena at the individual, group and organizational level.

2.     To differentiate the types of communication method and to utilise it to the efficiency of decision making in an organization.

3.     To demonstrate the ability to communicate, working in a group, managing and leadership quality.

10. LEARNING OUTCOMES At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

1.     Discuss the elements of behavior in an organization. (LO2-P3)

2.     Identify and use the right communication and problem solving skills in the issues of internal and external organization. (LO4-CS3)

3.     Demonstrate the selected principle and theories in organization behaviour in ongoing dynamic and ever-changing organization. (LO3-CTPS3)

11. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS Student should be able to develop a good understanding of individual, group behavioral including develop their personality which needed by most industry through a process of lectures, tutorial, debate, forum and group assignment.
12. TEACHING-LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT STRATEGY Teaching-learning strategy:

  • The course will be taught through a combination of formal lectures, exercise, group work, using authentic materials, informal activities and various textbooks. Collaborative teamwork will be fosters throughout the course. The use of examination and internal reporting assessment will assess the student’s ability to apply theoretical concept in context.

13. SYNOPSIS The subject aims to discuss the behavioural phenomena at the individual, group and the systems or organizational level.  Discussion at the individual level covers issues relating to personality, attitude, values, perception, learning and motivation.  Group level issues include group dynamics, communication, leadership and conflict.  Finally, the issues at the systems level cover organization design, job design, organizational culture and organizational change.
